Greetings! I am Erica Griffin, a Cincinnati-based photographer, the owner, and the lead photographer at Captivated Impressions. My artistic style is tailored to the unique preferences and visions of my clients, whether it's capturing moments indoors or on location. I delight in exploring diverse creative possibilities and collaborating with my clients to bring their ideas to life. The creation of Captivated Impressions was driven by my desire to express my artistic perspective. While I may not adhere to traditional approaches in running my photography brand, I believe there is no single, definitive method. Rather than reinventing the wheel, I have put my own unique spin on it. Ultimately, my focus is on listening to my clients, providing creative insights, and working collaboratively to bring their visions to fruition.
how it started
When I first started out as a photographer, I wasn't keen on doing weddings. I had a bad experience shooting a wedding early on, and it left a sour taste in my mouth. But as it turns out, things changed for me over time.
At first, the idea of capturing the love and joy of couples on their engagement and wedding days made me nervous. I didn't think I had the skills or experience to do it justice. I was also worried about not meeting the expectations of the couples and their families.
But as I got more into wedding photography, I realized that I had a knack for it. The more weddings I shot, the more I realized that I could capture the emotions and connections between couples on their special day. I loved being able to document their love stories and help them create memories that would last a lifetime.
With each wedding, I got more confident. I started to experiment with different techniques and styles, and I pushed myself creatively. I learned how to anticipate special moments and capture them in a way that conveyed the emotions and atmosphere of the day. I also developed an appreciation for the little details, like the bride's bouquet and the groom's boutonniere.
As my skills and experience grew, I started to get more and more requests for wedding photography. Couples were drawn to my ability to capture the essence of their love and the joy of their celebration. I was honored to be a part of these special moments and to contribute to the creation of lasting memories for couples and their families.
Today, wedding photography is one of my favorite genres. I love being able to use my skills and artistry to document the beginning of a new chapter in couples' lives. With each wedding I shoot, I'm reminded of the power of love and the importance of capturing the emotions and connections that make each couple's story unique.
